I just got my ALevel results, and I did pretty well. I got a B in English Lit. C in Media, and C in Physics. Both my parents have wanted me to go to Uni all my life (I’m an only child). I had applied to study English, and got in. But now I have changed my mind, I think I want a year off to do some work experience, maybe travel. But my parents are so adamant I go and they keep saying I should go. Do I just go? Or should I tell them I don’t want to? – S

Hi S! Yeah this is a really tricky time actually. I was in your shoes not that long ago!! I studied Media and English Lit for A levels too! So well done anyway for getting great results. So is that that you don’t want to go to Uni at all? Or is it just that you don’t want to go yet? Maybe you could try writing down all the things you want to do, and see if Uni fits in in your life at all. Try sitting down with your parents too and explaining how you feel, ask them to have an open mind if they can be a bit difficult!
